Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 13th August 2018. Updated throughout the day

Stornoway, Isle of Lewis
The Rose-coloured Starling, first reported visiting a garden at 9, Brighe Road on 6th August is still to be found in the area, although now visiting an alternative garden feeder. The bird has been present for over weeks

Baleshare, North Uist
2 Black-tailed Godwits were seen there today

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 07:05 - 09:45
Weather: Wind SSW F3, 8/8 cloud, dull and murky, some light drizzle.

A 3+ hour seawatch this morning produced 6 Eider (S), 1 Red-throated Diver (N), 2 Storm Petrels (S), 18 Fulmars (S), 39 Manx Shearwaters (S), 94 Gannets (78S 16N), 15 Ringed Plovers (S), 1 Whimbrel (S), 2 Turnstones (S), 5 Kittiwakes (4S 1N) [first juveniles seen] 1 Great Skua (S) and 1 Black Guillemot (S).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 42, Curlew 2, Snipe 3, Common Gull 210, Rock Dove 16, Peregrine 1, Raven 2, White Wagtail 1, Pied Wagtail 5 and Meadow Pipit 6
