After disappearing for a few days, the 2nd winter Ring-billed Gull resurfaced at West Beach, Vatersay at lunch time. A Pintail flew north past Brevig this morning. A juvenile Cuckoo was at Northbay and another was at Brevig, appearing outside my lounge window and perching on the garden gate briefly before making off around the side of the house. A single Black-tailed Godwit was at Traigh Mhor.

High tide at Traigh Leathann, North Uist this afternoon was not much over 3 m so waders were pretty distant. A flock of 34 Black-tailed Godwits flew S at 14.30 hours. Perched on the shore were two White-tailed Eagles one of which must have been quite an old bird with noticeably whitish head and sporting what appeared to be a white wing-tag.
