Hawkeye

Eyes and Ears Everywhere
Rubha Ardvule, South Uist
2 Common Scoter, 5 Arctic Skuas, 6 Great Skuas, 24 Puffins seen flying north this morning. 2 Whimbrel and 36 Kittiwakes flew south. 3 Whimbrel, 3 White Wagtails and a Sand Martin were present.

North Ford, North Uist
Common Tern reported this morning along with a Whimbrel, a White Wagtail and 2 Pink-footed Geese.

Clachan, North Uist
The drake Green-winged Teal is still to be found on Oban Trumisgarry

Ness area, Isle of Lewis
News from Tony Marr:-

A day of constant heavy drizzle grounded wildfowl and waders around the Butt. No sign of the Green-winged Teal. One Iceland Gull remained, and a lone Sand Martin arrived.

Butt of Lewis
Around the roadside pool near the lighthouse were (am) 12 Whimbrel, 12 Redshank and a Red Knot. A flock of 13 Barnacle Geese were present there all day.

A juvenile Iceland Gull (am)

Fivepenny flood
A flock of 17 Black-tailed Godwits present in (am) but not seen in the late afternoon, when a Sand Martin was present.
Machair between Lionel and Eoropie
In (am) too foggy to see across the machair; in late afternoon I could just discern 150 Pinkfeet and 600 Golden Plover in the distance.

A few more North Uist sightings today:

At Aird an Rùnair between 09.00 and 10.00 hours two Arctic Skuas and four Great Skuas flew N. Also seen were five pale-bellied Brent Geese, two Whimbrel, at least three White Wagtails and two ♂ Lapland Buntings.

At Loch nam Feithean there were ten Black-tailed Godwits while a Swallow was nearby.

Two Little Terns were off the Carinish shore near Rubha nan Ron in the evening.
