Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 21st August 2018. Updated throughout the day

Hirta, St. Kilda
The female ***Snowy Owl*** a Rose-coloured Starling and a 1CY *Sabine's Gull* were all on the island today

Castlebay Barra
A Wood Warbler was seen briefly this morning around the football pitch

Linshader, Isle of Lewis
A juvenile Cuckoo has been present for 3 days

Aird, Benbecula
24 Black-tailed Godwits and 2 Ruff were in the field opposite the Aird turning. 120 Black-tailed Godwits were nearby just south of Nunton.

Coot Loch, Benbecula
A Barnacle Goose was seen there today

Always Birding

Despite the weather, several fields were still being mown on South Uist which attracted 64 Black-tailed Godwits at Kilpheder and another 27 at Boisedale. There were circa 50 Twite at Orosay
