The Med Gull was at Eoligarry again this morning, feeding on the remains of a dead whale on the beach. 4 Wigeon were new in at Traigh Mhor. An hours seawatch off Vatersay in the late afternoon produced 1 Storm Petrel, 1 Sooty Shearwater and about 100 Manx Shearwaters going south. There's been a marked increase in the number of Hen Harriers and Merlins over the past week; I had a ringtail today that was so engrossed in hunting Meadow Pipits that it didn't notice me until it was 3 metres away!
