Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 6th April 2018

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Weather: Wind SE F6-7, 8/8 cloud very dull and murky, rain throughout watch
A 2.5 hour seawatch this morning produced 3 Eider (N), 1 Long-tailed Duck (S), 4 Red-throated Divers (2S 2N), 13 Fulmars (4S 9N), 50 Gannet (8S 42N), 26 Shag (N), 4 Cormorants (N), 6 Kittiwakes (1S 5N), 6 Razorbills )5S 1N) and 7 auk sp (4S 3N).
Also present in the area were Wigeon 30, Tufted Duck 11, Great Northern Diver 2, Cormorant 19, Snipe 2, Purple Sandpiper 2 and Pied Wagtail 1

On Barra, a sandwich tern was at Traigh Mhor this afternoon. A juv and the 2nd winter glaucous gull was at Ardveenish along with at least 1 juv Iceland gull.
