  • At a time when travel is being actively discouraged, we will not be posting any sightings that may inspire individuals to do so. We will endeavour to continue to report routine sightings that may be of interest, but not of scarce or rare birds. We thank you for your understanding and of course visiting birders will be most welcome once this crisis is over. Please be safe and sensible and follow government advice and not put our community at risk.

At Aird an Runair, North Uist at 11.25 hours a flock of 28 Knot flew S followed shortly after by a flock of 32 Redshank. Aso here were two Hen Harriers (one was certainly a juvenile and the other probably - the first I have seen fledged this year).

At Carinish, North Uist in the early afternoon a Great Skua came over and drifted away to the S. The previous day a flock of ca.40 Knot flew S at 10.25 hours.
