I had forgotten to take my phone when I went to pick the paper up from Bayhead shop and on my home luckily bumped into Barry Barnacal who had just arrived. He told me about the Semipalmated Sandpiper at Aird an Runair and we had good views. Photos are Barry's.

There was a yellow wagtail on Vatersay this morning, on the ploughed strip near the cemetery. The lesser yellowlegs was again showing well in the bay at Caolas. Blackcaps were singing at Creachan, Brevig, Garrygall and Northbay and at least 8 chiffchaffs were singing around Barra. Another was singing in the township at Vatersay. A single Iceland gull was still at Ardveenish.
