Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 12th May 2019. Updated throughout the day

Loch Stiapabhat, Isle of Lewis
The ***American Bittern*** was still present and seen at first light [05:00] and reported again late morning. 6 Pink-footed Geese were also still there
Note: If coming to see the bird, it is requested that people park at the sports centre as the gravel area opposite the gate to the hide is now part of a private residence.

Barvas, Isle of Lewis
3 Common Redpolls were there today

Tiumpan Head, Isle of Lewis
20+ Great Skuas and 3 Arctic Skuas were seen there today

Loch Bhrusda, Berneray
7 Pink-feet and 46 Barnacle Geese were there today. 21 Great Northern Divers were seen offshore from East Beach

Hosta, North Uist
5 Dotterels were in the fields south of Hosta

Aird and Runair, North Uist
4 Dotterel are still in fields behind the car park, still present at 20:00

Loch Fada, Benbecula
The Little Egret was again on the loch

Askernish, South Uist
A House Martin has been seen around the township the past few days

Northbay, Barra
A Wood Warbler and the long staying Great Tit were there today The Whinchat was again nearby at Creachan for a short time this afternoon
