Langass Lodge, North Uist
A Crossbill flew north this evening

Balranald, North Uist
Circa 30 Pink-feet, 40 Barnacle Geese and a juvenile Glaucous Gull was on the machair to the south of the reserve and 100+ Pink-feet flew north over Loch Eaval this morning. The pair of Garganey were still on Loch nam Feithean. A Wood Sandpiper was reported near the vistor centre this evening and a Curlew Sandpiper was at Aird an Runair

Rubh' Arnal, North Uist
A juvenile Glaucous Gull and two juvenile Iceland Gulls were seen there today. 200+ Pink-feet north in the afternoon. A Glaucous Gull was nearby at Bayhead.

Benbecula
A Hawfinch was seen on the east side of the island today

Loch Sandary, North Uist
A Wood Sandpiper was seen there this morning

Northbay, Barra
A Wood Warbler was there this morning

Ardivachar machair, South Uist
18 Pink-feet and two Pale-bellied Brent Geese were there this evening

Weather: Wind NE f4, 8/8 cloud, light rain. Temp 8-9 c.

A 2 hour seawatch this morning produced 1 Great Northern Diver (S), 2 Fulmars (N), 46 Cormorants (8S 38N), 2 Shag (N), 2 Cormorants (N), 2 Kittiwakes (N), 4 Guillemots (N), 3 Razorbills (N) and 13 auk sp (1S 12N).
Also present in the area were Pale-bellied Brent Goose 8, Greylag Goose 5, Shelduck 7, Tufted Duck 8, Eider 7, Great Northern Diver 6, Cormorant 34, Curlew 3, Bar-tailed Godwit 7, Sanderling 45, Dunlin 55, Arctic Tern 15, Sand Martin 2, Wheatear 4, White Wagtail 4 and Pied Wagtail 2

Borge Machair and beach
Dunlin 2550, Ringed Plover 400, Oystercatcher 28, Whimbrel 34, Golden Plover 8, Lapwing 50(brood of 3 chicks), Little Tern 1 and adult WTEagle

Coot Loch
Coot 3 (2 pairs), Little Grebe 12 (6 pairs), Tufted Duck 19, Corncrake 2, Oystercatcher 65, Mute Swan 2, Shoveler 3 and Gadwall.

Stinky Bay
Sanderling 100, Dunlin 150, GNDiver 15, Arctic Skua 1 (dark phase), Corncrake 1, WTEagle 1 immature, Long-tailed Duck 7. Loch opposite pair of Little Grebe and 4 pairs of Tufted Duck.

Others highlights:
White-tailed Eagle 2 ads, Arctic Skua 4 (3 dark) Red Grouse 1, Black-throated Diver 2, Red-throated Diver 4 and Short-eared Owl.

Since leaving Oban last Thursday I’ve recorded 112 bird species! Out in the field 12+ hours a day.
