Barra.
An obvious arrival of migrants on Barra today. A Hawfinch was at Morghan this morning before flying off high east. Another Hawfinch dropped into Creachan this afternoon before flying off north. Our second Redstart of the spring was by the football pitch at Castlebay and a male Whinchat was at Brevig. Our first Spotted Flycatcher of the year was at Northbay. Also at least 5 singing Blackcaps and 7 reeling Grasshopper Warblers around the island. On Vatersay a Black-tailed Godwit and c10 White Wagtails were at Caolas plus 3 migrant Willow Warblers along the roadside fences.
