Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 15th July 2018. Updated throughout the day

Sollas, North Uist
The ***Snowy Owl*** was seen there this afternoon

Loch Stiapavat, Isle of Lewis
57 Black-tailed Godwits were in front of the hide this evening

Stinky Bay, Benbecula
An adult Little Gull was seen there this morning

South Glendale, South Uist
A juvenile Siskin was seen in a garden there

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 06:25 - 08:50
Weather: Wind S F5, 8/8 cloud, murky at times, occasional light drizzle. Temp 15C.

A 2+ hour seawatch this morning produced 1 Black-throated Diver (S), 2 Great Northern Divers (S), 6 Storm Petrels (S), 4 Fulmars (3S 1N), 57 Manx Shearwaters (45S 12N), 136 Gannets (118S 18N), 1 Cormorant (S), 1 Kittiwake (S), 44 Arctic Terns (S), 1 Great Skua (S), 1 Guillemot (S), 10 Razorbills (S(), 8 Puffins (S) and 13 auk sp (S).
Also present in the area were Lapwing 43, Whimbrel 1, Snipe 5, Black-headed Gull 30, Lesser Black-backed Gull 3, Arctic Tern 25, Peregrine 1, Raven 27, Sand Martin 2 and Pied Wagtail 4

WeBS count at Loch Paible, North Uist this morning included a pair of Shelduck with c.10 ducklings recently hatched and four juveniles, an adult Knot, 23 Black-tailed Godwits (20 of which flew S) and four (three adult) Bar-tailed Godwits dropped in.
