  • At a time when travel is being actively discouraged, we will not be posting any sightings that may inspire individuals to do so. We will endeavour to continue to report routine sightings that may be of interest, but not of scarce or rare birds. We thank you for your understanding and of course visiting birders will be most welcome once this crisis is over. Please be safe and sensible and follow government advice and not put our community at risk.

Among the species seen in the Rubh' Arnal area, North Uist this morning were 64 pale-bellied Brent Geese (including the colour-ringed bird that has been present since 28th December), a colour-ringed Barnacle Goose, adult Iceland and Glaucous Gulls and 13 Razorbills quite close inshore.
