Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 17th September 2020. Updated throughout the day

Butt of Lewis
Two *Buff-breasted Sandpipers* flew over the cliffs at 1500. Four Lapland Buntings were also around the lighthouse. A Pied Flycatcher was nearby, seen in a Ness garden

Loch Ordais, Isle of Lewis
The juvenile ***Semipalmated Sandpiper*** was again seen on the beach this morning and a juvenile Long-tailed Skua flew north

Oban Trumisgarry, North Uist
A Little Egret was seen near the junction of the A865 and B893

Sollas, North Uist
A Ruff and five Black-tailed Godwits were there today

Baleshare, North Uist
Four Lapland Buntings and 200 Twite were on the island today

Lochmaddy, North Uist
A Chiffchaff was seen there today

Eochar, South Uist
A juvenile Little Stint and three Curlew Sandpipers were on the mud flats by Hebridean Jewellery

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
A 2CY Iceland Gull was there today

Askernish, South Uist
Four Black-tailed Godwits were on the machair this morning and a further six were at West Kilbride and seven at Smeclete

Orosay, South Uist
A Little Stint was on the shore by the net cleaning station and ten Black-tailed Godwits were on the machair. A Whimbrel flew over South Lochboisdale this morning

Lochboisdale, South Uist
An adult Pomarine Skua, 15 Great Skuas and 15 Storm Petrels were seen from the Lochboisdale - Mallaig ferry this morning
