The Rosy Starling was present for its 32nd day at Borve, as usual close to the cattle most of the time. Mark Oksien carried out a petrel ringing session on Barra last, ringing a total of 27 Storm Petrels plus a control. A Leach's Petrel was calling near the nets towards the end of the session.

A foray in an area of North Uist not visited for some years proved disappointing for the number of species. A Black-throated Diver was present (not at or near nest I hasten to add), both Golden and White-tailed Eagles in flight at some distance (I wouldn't have seen them but for a few Arctic Skuas calling) and the only wader seen were a couple of rather agitated calling Whimbrel (again at some distance and initially disturbed by a mink trapper with a dog that was anything but in close control). Otherwise there was a single Red Grouse (with a single flying young), a juvenile Hen Harrier, and a single Short-eared Owl.
