A Fieldfare was seen on the island today

Carinish, North Uist
A Willow Warbler, Chiffchaff and a Goldcrest were there today

Counting period: 07:20 - 10:20
Weather: Wind variable W-WSW-SSE-W F3-4, 8/8 cloud becoming brighter with some showers developing. Temp 5-6C.

A 3 hour seawatch this morning produced 11 Eider (10S 1N), 2 Red-breasted Mergansers (S), 16 Red-throated Divers (S), 21 Great Northern Divers (S), 6 Gannets (S), 47 Shag (3S 44N), 2 Cormorants 9 Kittiwakes (S), 2 Guillemots (S) and 2 auk sp (1S 1N).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 95, Wigeon 9, Teal 14, Tufted Duck 15, Long-tailed Duck 3, Goldeneye 1, Red-throated Diver 3, Great Northern Diver 2, Cormorant 6, Ringed Plover 46, Sanderling 33, Dunlin 7, Raven 1, Rock Pipit 2 and Twite 14

News from Tristan on Lewis

Yesterday (31st), there were at least 8 Siskins in the castle grounds by the golf club house. Also, a local reported ca 20 Waxwings between the Woodlands Centre and Cuddy Point.

Today (1st), the Little Egret was at the bottom end of Sand Street and six Waxwings were in the same place as yesterday

Ruff – one at Loch Stiapabhat
C. Eider – 9 off the Butt
Scaup – fem. on Loch Stiapabhat with 12 Tufted
Whooper Swan – a juv there

Hen Harrier – male
Jackdaw2 seen in a garden along the Cross-Skigersta Road
Blackcap – male and female
Chiffchaff – one
Brambling – 30 in fields by Port of Ness Post Office
Reed Bunting – 2 there

[No sign in am of the Great Tit seen at the weekend in garden of 23 Adabrok]
