Re the Buff-breasted Sandpiper above this bird was with a Ruff and a handful of Golden Plover before flying off to the S part of Eachkamish. A bit later we located the flock of five found by John McInnes a couple of days ago. These were quite flighty and were seen in a couple of areas and always together. So it looks like there are six on Baleshare. Also in the area were five other Ruff and a flock of some 200 Golden Plover that came in from the sea quite high up.

Also on North Uist today Jamie Boyle saw a Spotted Redshank at Vallay Strand. This is a scarce visitor to the Outer Hebrides.

On Barra today a single yellow-browed warbler was in the bushes by the football pitch at Castlebay. Also a male blackcap and a chiffchaff there.
