Ringing here in Askernish this morning and I caught 2 Chiffchaffs and 4 Willow Warblers, all different birds from those that were here yesterday. One of the Willow Warblers was a retrap (AAL999), a bird that I first ringed on 31st July 2014 and retrapped again on 1st July 2015. This bird is now almost 4 years old but still has some way to go to beat current longevity record of 10 years 11 months and 18 days

A similar number of brent geese were seen moving back into Cottage Garden Bay at 21.00, so probably the same group.

A very faded juv Iceland gull was at Traigh Mhor, Barra this evening plus 4 little terns. There were several corncrakes around the island today including one stood motionless in the road for a couple of minutes as I was on my way home from work.

At Aird an Runair, North Uist this morning there were still some pale-bellied Brent Geese present, two single Great Skuas flew N, an Arctic Skua flew inland, there were 15 Whimbrel in flight, only 18 Black-tailed Godwits remained (still accompanied by a Ruff) while Arctic Terns had increased to nine.

At nearby Loch nam Feithean there were 51 Black-tailed Godwits.
