Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 26th April 2018

Stornoway, Isle of Lewis
The 4 juvenile Iceland Gulls and 2 Glaucous Gulls were still to be found around the outflow on Goat Island today

Loch Stiapabhat, Isle of Lewis
A Corncrake was heard calling around midday

Balivanich, Benbecula
A 2CY Glaucous Gull seen offshore today

Ben Risary Plantation, North Uist
6+ Siskins present near Craigmore House this evening

Balranald, North Uist
A Chiffchaff was heard singing in the cemetery

South Glendale, South Uist
A Lesser Redpoll was seen in a garden there

A small number of skuas headed N at Aird an Runair, North Uist this morning: three Pomarine (at 08.50), three Arctic (also John Haydon saw another three over Traigh nam Faoghailean) and six Great. At least 40 Arctic Terns were also in the area.

A late male snow bunting was showing well by the airport for its second day. A blackcap was at Northbay and 5 whimbrels arrived in off the sea at Brevig this evening.
