Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 26th December 2018. Updated throughout the day

Baleshare, North Uist
47 pale-bellied Brent Geese were seen on Traigh Eachcamais today

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 08:50 - 10:55
Weather: Wind SSW veering SW F5, 8/8 cloud, dull and murky, temp 10C

A 2 hour seawatch this morning produced 11 Eider (S), 11 Long-tailed Ducks (S), 2 Red-breasted Mergansers (S), 4 Red-throated Divers (3S 1N), 24 Shag (2S 22N), 2 Bar-tailed Godwits (S), 2 Razorbills (S) and 1 auk sp (S).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 8, Mute Swan 2, Wigeon 52, Teal 1, Tufted Duck 11, Red-throated Diver 1, Great Northern Diver 6, Cormorant 10, Black-headed Gull 1, Common Gull 70, Merlin 1 and Peregrine 1
