Barred Warbler there this morning

An immature Scaup was on the loch today

Balranald, North Uist
The two ***Cackling Geese*** were seen there this morning. A **Lesser Yellowlegs** was seen nearby at Hougharry

Traigh Mhor, Barra
A juvenile Iceland Gull, juvenile Glaucous Gull and 30 Brent Geese were there today

There were two Hawfinches in my garden in Stornoway all day today. Also three Bramblings, a Treecreeper and a Grey Wagtail.

News from Ness

The weekend weather was mostly dreadful, and there were few interesting birds to report. Today picked up a little.

Hen Harrier – currently three in the area: an adult male, an immature male and a ringtail.
House Sparrow – four currently in residence around the lighthouse
Redwing – 5 at the lighthouse
Fieldfare – 10 at the lighthouse

Bramblings – 2 in Port of Ness
Crossbill one flew SW over Port of Ness (12.40) high up and ‘chipping’ loudly
Common Rosefinch – one calling loudly in the sycamore plantation next to my rented house at 9 Port of Ness (11.55) flew off SW with House Sparrows.
