An unprecidented 61 ravens on the headland today. Not sure what they are up to but are having a disturbing effect on the breeding waders.

New arrivals in Askernish today included 2 Lesser Redpolls and a Coal Tit, my first for the Uists. 2 Sand Martins and decent numbers of waders were on the beach including 150 Turnstone and 350+ Sanderling with several colour ringed individuals amongst them. 45 Whimbrel were on the machair (possibly the same as seen at Smercleit earlier) and my first Corncrake was heard calling by the club house.
