Lochmaddy, North Uist
33 Storm Petrels, 50+ Manx Shearwaters, 3 Arctic Terns, 2 Great Skuas and an Arctic Skua were seen from the lochmaddy - Uig ferry this morning
Pollachar, South Uist
2 Pomarine Skuas and a Whimbrel flew South this morning
Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 06:30 - 10:30
Weather: Wind SW backing SSE becoming variable then NW f1-2. Dull, murky at sea, drizzle througout watch
A 4 hour seawatch this morning produced 1 Red-throated Diver (S), 1 Great Northern Diver (S), 6 Storm Petrels (S), 29 Fulmars (S), 67 Manx Shearwaters (S), 115 Gannets (103S 12N), 1 Shag (S), 119 Kittiwakes (S), 4 Common Terns (S), 15 Arctic Terns (S), 4 Great Skuas (3S 1N), 3 Arctic Skuas (S), 2 Razorbills (S) and 1 auk sp (S).
Also present in the area were Red-throated Diver 1, Great Northern Diver 1, Cormorant 6, Common Buzzard 1, Bar-tailed Godwit 1, Knot 22 Pectoral Sandiper 1 [juvenile], Snipe 3, Redshank 10, Common Gull 180, Great Black-backed Gull 23, Herring Gull 250, Lesser Black-backed Gull 2, Pied Wagtail 2 and Meadow Pipit 4.
One of the Snipe [all 3 on the beach] was a very rusty looking individual, possibly faeroeensis?
Reed Warbler that "fell out of the sky" yesterday
