How rare is Shoveler on Barra, has Stock Dove been seen on Harris, does Dotterel occur on Benbecula in the autumn, and how common is Blue Tit on North Uist? Well, fret no longer! An Olive-backed Pipit was at the Garadh, Northbay early afternoon. Picked up on call and seen in flight 5 times before giving brief views on the ground just after 1 pm. About 40 minutes later I was surprised to find a second OBP 8 miles away by the football pitch at Castlebay. The bird was seen in flight twice and heard calling, though views on the ground were obscured by vegetation.
11 Long-tailed Tits were at Creachan.
