Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 3rd October 2021. Updated throughout the day

Hirta St Kilda
The two ***Buff-bellied Pipits*** and **Short-toed Lark** were still there today. Also there was a Pale-bellied Brent Goose, Barnacle Goose (another flock of 16 flew over) and a Merlin A Long-tailed Duck and Slavonian Grebe were both in Village Bay.

Loch Stiapabhat, Isle of Lewis
The juvenile **Lesser Yellowlegs** was still at the north end of the loch this morning. 4 *Ring-necked Ducks* were also still present and a 1st winter *Mediterranean Gull* and a Coot were seen in the afternoon.

Baleshare, North Uist
A juvenile *American Golden Plover* was at Teanamachar early afternoon

West Gerinish, South Uist
Seven Whooper Swans, two Little Stints and a Pintail were in the south-west corner of Loch Bee. 80 Black-tailed Godwits were on the nearby machair

Northbay, Barra
A Yellow-browed Warbler was seen in the plantation this morning - first of the year

2 Lapland Buntings high north over Garrygall this morning, 1 Yellow-browed Warbler at Northbay and 1 possibly 2 at Morghan, Pied Flycatcher still at Nask, 84 Pale-bellied Brent Geese and a Grey Plover at Traigh Mhor and a Shoveler (the first I've seen on Barra) was at Loch Tangasdale.
