Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 4th May 2021. Updated throughout the day

Aird an Runair, North Uist
Circa 600 Arctic Terns, 98 Kittiwakes, 3 Great Skuas and an Arctic Skua passed north this afternoon. A male Ruff was at Loch nam Feithean this evening

Stinky Bay, Benbecula
Eight Black-tailed Godwits were seen there this evening

Ardivachar, South Uist
Two dark phase and 1 light phase Arctic Skuas were sen there this afternoon

Carnan, South Uist
Two Common Redpolls were again visiting a garden there

Aird-mhicheil, South Uist
A dark phase Arctic Skua flew north this afternoon. Circa 20 Whimbrel were still in the area

Rubha Ardvule, South Uist
Three Pale-bellied Brent Geese and 12 Whimbrel were there this evening

North Locheynort, South Uist
A Blackcap was heard singing there
