Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 6th May 2022. Updated throughout the day

Balranald, North Uist
A *White-billed Diver* was seen off Aird an Runair this morning. 5 Pomarine and 4 Long-tailed Skuas 3 Arctic Skuas, 2 Great Skuas and 32 Whimbrel passed north between 07:00 - 09:00. Another 5 Long-tailed Skuas, 1 Pomarine Skua, 6 Arctic Skuas, 3 Great Skuas, 55 Whimbrel and 40 Common Scoter also flew north between 14:30 - 17:50. A Snow Bunting was also seen on the beach.

Balranald, North Uist
The 2 Garganey (one drake) were again seen on Loch nam Feithean

Carinish, Horth Uist
30 Whimbrel flew along the beach this eveing

Coot Loch, Benbecula
The drake Garganey was again seen on the loch early afternoon. A single Black-tailed Godwit was also there. 5 Black-tailed Godwits were nearby at Loch na Meallaird

Howmore, South Uist
25 Whimbrel were on seen on the machair and an Arctic Skua was also seen in the area

Circa 70 Whimbrel on Frobost machair with my first Greylag goslings on a loch there. The Woodpigeon is still in Askernish township as are the 2 Common Redpolls
