There was a good movement of Barnacle Geese today through North Uist with a minumum of 4,000 recorded. Around half were on the ground at Balranald NR. At Aird an Runair in a half an hour seawatch some 315 (four skeins) came in from well out before turning to N (apart from 20 that came over headland). Otherwise during the seawatch two Red-throated Divers, ten Kittiwakes and a Black Guillemot flew N. At least four Wheatears were present and a couple of White Wagtails.
