The Bittern has been present all day on Loch Stiapabhat. This morning it was to the left as you look from the hide, by this evening it was over to the right again. This evening it was also a lot more showy and there were great views of it fishing/hunting. It moved slowly into the marsh out of view towards Port of Ness way. So tomorrow, early morning visitors may have to be patient. There was also a common crane in Ness today. First seen in Habost at 5am. and last seen mid morning over Habost/Lionel machair. A local chap got some great pics and I have shared them on the Loch Stiapabhat facebook page.
