RSPB Field Officer Uist Reserves
Salary £16,504 to £17,880 per annum pro rata
Based on Islands of Uist
We are seeking a dynamic and organised person with a keen interest in wildlife to join our small team doing big things for some of the UK's rarest species and habitats. The Uist reserve suite covers a range of habitats, machair coastal grasslands, tidal strands, fresh water lochs, croftlands and moor across the islands of North and South Uist, Benbecula and Barra. You will work with thousands of breeding waders, corncrakes, farmland finches and birds of prey, assisting with biodiversity monitoring across the islands and tourist information on the reserves.
You will need to be a good team player who is good at communicating with internal and external stakeholders; you will also be able to lone work and use your initiative at times to solve problems. Night and early morning work will be required. This part-time fixed term contract of 18.5 hours per week will run April – September.
