Some sightings during a walk along Baleshare beach this morning: a herd of 56 Whooper Swans came through at 10.40 hours; at the same time but further away 11 unidentified geese (could well have been Greenland White-fronts from photo); earlier ca. 40 geese passed N but these were miles out; a 1st-winter Golden Eagle made a change from the more usual sightings of White-tailed Eagles here; and at least two Glaucous Gulls were present. Dead on the beach was a Risso's Dolphin and a Gannet with a large fish head stuck in its throat (I think possibly a Whiting). On return home another 10 Whooper Swans were resting on the exposed mud near the causeway.
