Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 24th May 2018. Updated throughout the day

St Kilda
the ***Snowy Owl*** was again seen on Hirta on Mullach Bi this evening

Ardmore, South Uist
The drake *Ring-necked Duck* was again seen on Loch nan Ceann

Leurbost, Isle of Lewis
A Whinchat was seen there today

Loch Bhrusda, Berneray
A Pink-footed Goose was on the loch

Loch nam Feithean, North Uist
A pair of Garganey seen there today

Langass, North Uist
A Common Whitethroat was by the lodge this afternoon

Loch Sandary, North Uist
A male Ruff was there today

Stinky Bay, Benbecula
The 3CY Iceland Gull was seen there again this morning. A male Ruff was nearby at Loch Mor and a pair of Garganey was on Loch Fada in the evening

South Glendale, South Uist:
A Siskin, Spotted Flycatcher and Whitethroat were in a garden there

A Whimbrel and this colour ringed Redshank were at Frobost this morning. I am currently awaiting details from the project concerned

A hawfinch was on Barra today at Creachan community woodland. Large numbers of manx shearwaters were off Borve this morning; hard to gauge numbers but easily in the high hundreds, perhaps more.
