A Wood Warbler, Blackcap and Common Redpoll seen this afternoon. An Osprey was seen nearby over the Eriskay causeway
Ness area, Isle of Lewis
News from Tony Marr:-
After a clear moonlit night and no wind, there had been quite a clear-out by this morning. The few remaining migrants were:
Whooper Swan – one at S end of Loch Stiapavat
Barn Swallow – two at the north end
Golden Plover – 6 on the machair at Eoropie
Dunlin – 12
I spent an hour looking for divers off the pier at Skigersta this evening (1730-1830). I saw only 3 Red-throated, but enjoyed an unusual passage of Red Knot heading up the coast towards the Butt, all about half a mile offshore in The Minch. There were six flocks in all, totalling 325 birds. They were passing at tremendous speed, low to the sea, and every one of them was red!
