Late news of a juvenile male Garganey seen there on Saturday (12th August). Only the second record for the island

5 Sooty Shearwaters, 15 Storm Petrels, and 6 Great Skuas passed offshore today. 4 Black-tailed Godwits also came in off the sea

A 3CY Glaucous Gull was seen from the headland today

Loch Ordais, Isle of Lewis
A Whimbrel was seen there today

Weather: Wind N f2, sunny at first, 8/8 cloud later

With no obvious sea passage during 1+ hours this morning, the only species noted was a Great Skua (N).
