On a pleasant spring morning there were at least 4 Iceland Gulls (one adult) in the Rubh' Arnal area and a similar number of Glaucous Gulls (also one adult). The mostly white Common Gull was also on the beach along with just a single (1st-winter) pale-breasted Brent Goose. A few Ringed Plovers were setting up territories and other signs of spring on North Uist recently include the arrival of a small number of Black-headed Gulls.
