Some North Uist news: the flock of Snow Buntings at Aird an Runair numbered 24; there were two Iceland Gulls at Hougharry and close to the RSPB visitor centre an unfortunate ♂ Teal was a fence casualty;
a total of 35 Whooper Swans (at least four 1st-winters) were in the Griminish area - most were on Loch Olavat (John Bowler recorded at least 306 passing through Tiree today);
while at Carinish at 16.40 hours a flock of 17 migrating geese passed through the North Ford (unfortunately too distant for specific identification).
Lewis: Iain Macleod sent a message this morning to say a neighbour Ruairidh Macrae had watched for about 30 minutes and photographed a Gyrfalcon at Arighbruich. Presumably Tony's bird of Saturday. Not sure if this was today or yesterday.
Tony reported still 5 Iceland Gulls at the cliff roost at Port of Ness this evening.
