Western Isles / Outer Hebrides bird sightings for today, 25th December 2022. Updated throughout the day

Rubha Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 09:00-10:50
Weather: Wind NW - NNW f4, 8/8 cloud at first becoming brighter with sunny periods. Temp 7c.
A near 2 hour seawatch this morning produced 8 Eider (S), 1 Long-tailed Duck (S), 1 Red-breasted Merganser (S), 1 Little Auk (S- landed briefly on the sea), 3 Red-throated Divers (S), 1 Gannet (N), 1 Cormorant (S), and 20 Shag (7S 13N).
Also present in the area were Greylag Goose 56, Wigeon 22, Mallard 66, Teal 6, Tufted Duck 8, Ringed Plover 35, Curlew 8, Bar-tailed Godwit 3, Sanderling 54, Dunlin 98, Purple Sandpiper 15, Redshank 19, Great Black-backed Gull 6, Red-throated Diver 1, Great Northern Diver 1, Cormorant 18, Merlin 1[female], Hooded Crow 1, Raven 2, Rock Pipit 3, and Twite 27
