Outer Hebrides / Western Isles bird sightings for today, 4th May 2018. Updated throughout the day

Eilogarry, Barra
The *White-billed Diver* is still to be found off-shore from the jetty. A 2CY Iceland Gull was also in the area

Stornoway, Isle of Lewis
2 Siskins were seen in the Castle Grounds,

Aird an Runair, North Uist
A Pomarine Skua was seen offshore this morning

Stinky Bay, Benbecula
An immature Iceland Gull was there this afternoon

Smercleit, South Uist
16 Black-tailed Godwits, 8 Whimbrel and 7 Whooper Swans were there today

Ruhba Ardvule, South Uist
Counting period: 07:05 - 09:25
Weather: Wind SSW F5-6, very dull and misty, poor visibility at sea. Temp 9.6 - 10C

A 2+ hour seawatch this morning in far from ideal conditions produced 1 Fulmar (S), 48 Gannet (46S 2N), 2 Shag (N), 2 Cormorants (S), 10 Kittiwakes (S), 3 Arctic Skuas (2S 1N) and 2 Reazorbills.
Also present in the area were Great Northern Diver 4, Cormorant 12, Whimbrel 2, Dunlin 100, Arctic Tern 4, Wheatear 1, Pied Wagtail 1 and Meadow Pipit 2

Decent numbers of waders and gulls here at Askernish along the beach today with 350 Sanderling, 150+ Turnstones, 100+ Dunlin and 150+ Oystercatchers in amongst the seaweed. There were also 200+ Herring Gulls and a 3CY Iceland Gull as well as 22 Whimbrel. 72 Whimbrel were also on the first fairway of the golf course at midday
