  • At a time when travel is being actively discouraged, we will not be posting any sightings that may inspire individuals to do so. We will endeavour to continue to report routine sightings that may be of interest, but not of scarce or rare birds. We thank you for your understanding and of course visiting birders will be most welcome once this crisis is over. Please be safe and sensible and follow government advice and not put our community at risk.

Some lively weather for the WeBS count today.
Ardivachar beach was dominated by gulls: c950 herrings, 44 greater black-backs, 16 black-headeds. Also, c400 bar-tailed godwits, 6 snipes, 20 purple sandpipers, 1 curlew, 21 turnstones, 23 ringed plovers, 22 oystercatchers, 40 sanderlings, 3 eiders, 1 common scoter, 25 cormorants, and 3 whooper swans.
Very little in North Bay which was a surprise as it has the most shelter from the westerlies.
